Rita Levi Montalcini is 100

The Italians will sometimes shout at someone's birthday celebration: cento di questi giorni! "A hundred days like this," that is, may you live to be a hundred.

Well, nobody will be able to say that today for the birthday of neuroscientist Rita Levi Montalcini, because she's there already- making her the oldest Nobel laureate.

Words like "amazing" and "wonderful" have been cheapened by overuse, but they really apply to this lady. Read about her extraordinary life and work in this very recent article from Nature.
