Italian proverbs: Bacco, tabacco e Venere

I like this one: Bacco, tabacco e Venere, riducono l'uomo in cenere. I like both the amusing rhymes and the accuracy.

Literally: Bacchus (wine, booze), tobacco and Venus (eros, sex) turn man to ash.

Actually, even one of these alone can turn you to ash, if taken too far. This is the case with former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, who has just resigned and who is now, if not ash, at least toast.
