FIAT and Chrysler get hitched

I never thought I'd see the day when FIAT would come to the aid of an American auto company. My second car was a FIAT 131- a good-looking vehicle, but it lived up to the joke that the initials stood for "fix it again, Tony." Actually, they stand for Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (Italian Automobile Factory Turin.) Chrysler is headed for bankruptcy anyway.

FIAT CEO Sergio Marchionne (Mahr-KYON-neh) has been able to significantly impact the fortunes of Italy's historic manufacturer. Read about the deal here.
