Here's one of my favorites: a tavola non s'invecchia. One does not grow old at the table. I take this to mean that the pleasures of good food, wine, and company are such that the passage of time is suspended.Of course, the way many Americans are eating nowadays, they're not going to grow old, quite literally. No place for gluttony in the true Italian lifestyle.
