Mangiare Bene food site

There are oodles of Italian-language food sites out there and now, of course, there are blogs. Many of which I will present to you in due time. But the site of Marina Malvezzi is one of the oldest (ten years) and most established, and has just had a makeover, with a clean, functional design. There are sections on wine, the usual collection of searchable recipes, menus, an Italian-English food glossary, a section on health and diet, even aphrodisiac menus.

The feature I like best is Marina's "secrets," a long series of alphabetized tips on food and cooking. But as so often happens with translated sites, the original and the translation are not the same, with the latter generally being more limited. The tips section is much longer and better in the Italian, with four entries alone on the weighty matter of "onions without tears." If you can read Italian at all, give the tips page a try. The overall site is well worth consulting.
Addendum 7/16/08 as of this writing, the English-language version is no longer available.
