The Colosseum in Rome was the only Western site among the seven new wonders of the world as determined by an online poll drawing on over 100 million voters. Other winners were Brazil's Statue of Christ Redeemer, Peru's Machu Picchu, Mexico's Chichen Itza pyramid, the Great Wall of China, Jordan's Petra, and India's Taj Mahal.
